  1. Second chances are always available – If you missed your number, that’s the second chance you’ve been expecting.  Get a motivation boost and use the collaborative tools as an opportunity to prove your extra abilities. Let others discover through the knowledge sharing process the gem they overlooked and confirm even to yourself the progress you’ve made
  2. Not to be overconfident – Self-assuredness is an essential factor for your professional comfort. But there is a thin line between being aware of your value and becoming overconfident. Being exposed to the organization’s amount of knowledge (implicitly to the individual one) will protect you from a risky high does of ego. Keep a questioning mind and accept your limits, without missing the chances of personal evolution.
  3. To watch yourself from underperforming – There are many unforeseen risks that can divert you from your professional evolution. Routine, moroseness, musing or different personal discomforts lead to alienation – and that’s the enemy you most need to protect yourself from. Not keeping up with others knowledge growth will make you underperform. That’s why knowledge sharing platforms are a good self-measurement tool.
  4. To say “I don’t know” – Most people aren’t aware of it, but admitting your inexperience with some business aspects won’t make you look like an ignorant, but on the contrary –  it will help you create credibility, highlighting your expertise when it comes to knowledge you do control. Know-it-all people are often disregarded and their knowledge questioned.
  5. To be your own PR – And what better place to do it but on the “dance floor” collaborative tools lay in front of you. Get your act together and explore all the possible circumstances you can benefit from. Be permanently connected to the hot business topics and offer your expertise every time you can. Don’t abuse the attention you’re getting – accept your weak points, but make sure to always emphasize your strengths.

Happy Knowledge Sharing!
