  • How can I post a question, answer or content in Quandora?

    There are two ways to post content in Quandora: directly from the platform or via email.

    From the platform:

    To post a question: click on “Ask Question”, fill in the title of the question, add tags, fill in the body of the question (optional), click on “Post Question”.
    To post an answer: Click on the question you want to submit your answer to. Click on the “Answer” button located right under the question’s body.
    To post a comment: You can comment on both questions and answers. To add your comment just click on “Comment” under the questions or answer of interest, add your text and click on “Save”.

    From email:

    To post a question: each Knowledge Base has a dedicated email address. You can post a question in Quandora by simply emailing that address. The title of the email will become the title of the question and the body of the email will become the body of the question.
    To post an answer: You can post answers via email if you get an email notification containing the question. To answer it, all you have to do is reply to the said email.
    To post a comment: You can only post comments to answers via email. To post your comment all you have to do is reply to the email notification containing the answer.

  • How are the questions organized?

    Questions in Quandora are organized in Knowledge Bases and by tags.

    When you access a Knowledge Base, you’ll notice there are different filters: All, Unanswered, My Questions, Closed, Unanswered. These are the default filters. You can set up your own filters by performing a search and save it as a filter. This filter can be used only by you or you can opt to make it public so that other users can see it as well.

    By default, all questions, no matter the filter are listed from the newest to oldest. You can opt to list questions by Active or Popular from the Menu on the right.

    Note that you can also pin questions to a KB. When pinning a question, it will always be listed first.

  • Can questions be tagged? How does it work?

    Yes, questions can be tagged. When posting your questions you can pick from one of the existing tags or create one on the fly.

    Tags can be organized in Categories. Once a category is created, you can add values to it and set it up as a custom filter.

  • Who can post questions? Who can edit them? Can users be assigned different permissions and roles?

    There are four roles in Quandora: Reader (can only browse content), Participant (can browse and post content), Contributor (can browse, post and tag content) and Editor (can browse, post, tag and edit content).

  • Can I send questions/answers to Quandora from email?

    Yes (see first FAQ)

  • Is it possible to import content in Quandora? What about exporting it?

    KB managers can export content at any point, at a click of a button. You can find the Export option when going to Manage Domain> Knowledge Bases. Select the KB you want to export and click on the Export button. The export has a JSON format.

    As for importing content, even though this option is not available in the administration section, we do have importers for many types of sources, and can help you with that. Please send your request concerning this issue to support@quandora.com.

  • Can I follow users and topics?

    You can follow different elements in Quandora: questions, KBs, tags and other users. Click on the element you’d like to follow and click on the “Follow” option next to it. An email notification will be triggerred every time an action related to that element is posted.

  • Is it possible to get email notifications about new content?

    Yes. To get email notifications, follow the elements of your interest.

  • Can users be organized in groups? How does it work?

    Yes. This is something that domain managers can handle. Go to Manage Domain> Users and Groups> Manage Groups. This is the space where you can create a group and add users to it. Once the group is created, you can assign a group role for each KB. In order to do that, go to Manage Domain> Knowledge Bases> select KB> Members and Roles> select “Show Groups”> select the group and then assign a role from the list. Don’t forget to save changes.

  • How do I invite other people to join Quandora?

    You can invite other people to join Quandora by using the “Invite people by email” option in the menu under your name.

  • Is there a reward points system in Quandora?

    Yes, all actions in Quandora trigger reputation points.

  • Are there any activity metrics available?

    Yes, domain managers can see metrics and activity logs for the whole domain KB managers have access to the metrics and activity logs for the KB they manage. These stats are available in the Knowledge Bases settings menu. Domain administrators have dedicated tabs in Manage Domain.

  • Is it possible to set up SSO with third party authentication systems?

    Yes, Quandora supports many third party authentication services: Google, ActiveDirectory, Slack, GitHub, SalesForce, Microsoft Azure, Yammer… and globally, any SAML2 or OAuth2 compatible user management service.

  • Can I use Quandora in another language?

    We currently offer our user interface in English only. We do support any language as far as the user generated content is concerned, and offer services like stem searching for the most popular languages. Email us at suppor t@quandora.com if you are interested in a different language for the UI.

  • Does Quandora integrate with other products?

    Quandora offers different integrations with other products, like Slack, Yammer, Jira, Chatter, Zendesk, Bugzilla, etc. If you have a specific integration you are interested in, we are open to discussion. We can set up a call and discuss details.

  • Is there a mobile app?

    We do not have a native mobile app right now, but we do provide a mobile-optimized interface that looks pretty much like a native one.

  • Can I customize the looks of Quandora?

    Yes and we encourage you to. There’s a special tab in the administration area for this called Branding. You can add you logo, the colors of your company, header, footer, sidebars, etc. You can also add some JavaScript/ CSS and go even further.
